Power flushing

Power flushing & heating-system cleaning

FHP's current public trade profile lists power flushing as one of its services. If radiators are slow, uneven or affected by sludge and circulation problems, FHP can assess whether system cleaning is appropriate.

When to investigate

Signs the heating system may need attention

Cold spots on radiators
Especially where some parts of the radiator heat differently from others.
Slow or uneven heating
Some rooms or radiators take much longer to warm up.
Noisy circulation
Unusual noises from the system can indicate circulation or system-condition problems.
Dirty system water
Discoloured heating water or repeated blockage-related problems can indicate contamination.

Worth checking first

Not every cold radiator needs a power flush.

A stuck valve, balancing issue, pump problem, trapped air or another fault can cause similar symptoms. It is better to assess the system first rather than sell a power flush automatically.

Describe the problem

Tell FHP which radiators or rooms are affected and how long the issue has been happening.

Assess the system

The cause and condition of the heating system should be considered before deciding on cleaning.

Power flush if suitable

Where appropriate, specialist equipment is used to circulate cleaning fluid through the heating system.

Recheck heating

The system can be checked again after cleaning to confirm circulation and performance.

Heating not circulating properly?

Ask FHP whether a power flush is actually needed.

Send the postcode and describe which radiators or rooms are affected.
